Supporters Call on Legislators to Pass Opportunity Scholarship Act
Over 2,500 students, parents, education reform advocates, and legislators rallied outside a chilly NJ State Capitol on Dec. 1, 2011 to urge the state legislature to pass a plan that would create a scholarship tax credit program for students in the state’s worst performing school districts. Plan Would Create Voucher Program for Failing Schools, Expand Existing Tax Credit Scholarship Program
AFC now calls on the House of Representatives to follow the Senate’s lead and pass the plan, which is an amended version of Senate Bill 1, a proposed school choice expansion introduced last year. The Senate bill passed with bipartisan support.

Justices Uphold Constitutionality of Arizona Program
The U.S. Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of an Arizona tax credit program, ending a decade-long battle between school choice advocates and anti-school choice organizations intent on denying this option for families by ending the program, which currently serves over 27,000 children in the state.
